You can just continue slashing him at the same point, each time he rises, and you should be able to win the fight without even taking any damage. If you perform the slash at the moment he stands back up, he'll drop to his knee again. Now, wait for him to return to his feet and then slash him again. Unsheathe your knife and slash him, which will cause him to drop briefly to one knee. As he prepares to hit you, he will briefly leave himself open to attack. Once you have control again, immediately run toward Krauser.
